All vehicle rentals at Castleford are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement available at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pick-up. This document outlines important terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Castleford Car Hire, you must be at least 21 years old, though some vehicle types may have different age requirements. A valid driving license that matches the vehicle category is necessary, along with proof of identity and current address. Payment information and a security deposit are also required, along with any other criteria outlined in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations for vehicle hire can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Castleford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are usually collected at the time of vehicle pick-up. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure transactions handled by trusted payment processors.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Castleford, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. Please return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as appropriate. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will apply for any discrepancies. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For detailed information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Your Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, off-roading, or engaging in any dangerous maneuvers. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Ensure the vehicle is used appropriately, without exceeding passenger or weight limits and staying within the agreed geographical boundaries unless authorized.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Castleford Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the amount you paid for the rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or for fraud.
Castleford Legal Framework
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in these regions.
